and...djin7 added a new rule "Six things that have made you happy about fandom recently"... so I'll be adding that, too.
1. Cooler weather, and knowing that it's fall, that Halloween is coming, and the smell of spicy things cooking, like pumpkin pie!
2. I'm feeling much more like myself now, thanks to the new dosage on my thyroid medication. No more sluggish Auntie!!
3. I had a surprise literally pop up in my yard. These amazing red flowers just... popped up out of the ground. I have no idea what they are, and we didn't have them last year, probably because not enough rain, but now, WOW! They're really cool!!
4. The Halloween card that arrived in my mail yesterday fromfoolstrifle It was amazing!! I don't know whether to look at it, or frame it!! Thank you!! It's BEAUTIFUL!!
5. This morning, when the Impertinent Daughter walked away from the car to go into her school, I watched her, thinking, "When did my girl get so tall and so pretty?" And being completely amazed that such a person came from me!
Fandom things?
1. I feel I have grown more as a writer since getting involved in fanfiction than I had in the years previous to it. It's been a wonderful experience getting feedback, and learning, and stretching my boundaries, so to speak!
2. The friends I have made, both those in fandom, and those outside it (yes, Alex, I mean you!), people who have become such an essential part of my day that the times that I don't at least touch base with them, I feel left-footed all day.
3. Finding out I am not the only twisted, perverted writer out there! And that yes, there is a niche for the stuff I write!!

5. Unexpected side-benefit? I have discovered music that I previously would never have listened to, or even considered, simply because of curiosity when I see it listed as something my f-listers are listening to. Not to mention my expanded vocabulary, with f-listers patiently explaining definitions of terms to me that I have never heard before. Case in point? Being "pantsed." I had no idea! And now, I crack up every time I hear it!
I don't think I'll tag anyone. Just whoever wants to do it, you're welcome to! Heh, I enjoyed it, myself!!
