Dance of joy, dance of joy...
Monday, April 24th, 2006 05:51 pmIt's ours!!! IT'S OURS!!!! The house is ours, and oh... we are so excited!!! I had to wait until we got home and the Husbandly One found me huddled in front of the computer, trying so hard to contain myself. He crept up, tapped me softly on the shoulder and turned the chair around so I was looking up at him. He pulled me up to my feet, those light blue eyes twinkling with mischief, and he said, "Hey, Auntie... you know what?"
I held my breath, watching him, feeling the steam building up, biting my lip desperately, my entire body quivering with this upsurge of absolute joy, and he was just beaming when he leaned close and said very softly, "We own a house."
I couldn't hold it in one second longer. I jumped, I squealed, I SCREAMED, and he laughed even as he clapped his hands over his ears, watching me jumping up and down like a teenager, screaming and squealing at the top of my lungs, and then he couldn't stand it, he jumped with me while I clapped my hands and went all girly on him. "You've been holding that in all day, and I just couldn't wait one minute longer to see it!" he shouted, and then he pulled me close and held me while I trembled, burying my face in his chest. He tucked my head under his chin, and we just stood there, listening to each other's heartbeats, trembling and letting it all sink in. We have a house. Our very own house.
And yes, we had a celebratory slice of Belgian Chocolate cheesecake at Henry's after signing the papers. Oh! To be able to get my hands in the dirt and garden again!! Wheeeeeeee!!!!!
