Croooooaaaaak!!!

Hoooo, I'm tired (or as we say here... I'm taaahred!), I'm wind-blown, I'm hoarse because I've been yelling my head off (though I didn't jump up and down because, did I mention? I'm TIRED!) so I have NO voice, and you know what? I've got a chocolate jones the size of Alaska right now. If the Husbandly One is smart, he'll pick up some industrial sized chocolate before he gets back home and wave it around just inside the door before he tries to come back in the house. Because I'm in serious need of chocolate. In a major sort of way.

The Impertinent Daughter was over her bug, which turned out to be a very nasty stomach virus instead of strep, and back in class by Thursday, so she played today. The coach put her in as a fullback, but he didn't play her as much as usual, for which I am grateful. She chafed at that until I reminded her she's still recovering, and she was lucky I let her play at all. As it was, the Rotten Spartans lost, 8-4. It was a good game, and ID got her licks in, especially after one of the other team's players looked her up and down and said, "You're just a little bitty thing, aren't you? You're no challenge!"

HA!!

The other parents looked at me and went, "Uh-oh." And her coach literally danced with glee, cackling and rubbing his hands together. The Husbandly One turned to me and said, "Well, so much for taking it easy."

She creamed him.

She stole the ball from him.

She ran circles around him.

And then... she laughed at him, just before she passed the ball to one of her team-mates, and watched him score a goal for the Spartans. Then she turned to look at him, wrinkled her nose, and nodded sharply at him, with a little, "Hmph!" before striding back to her spot. Yes, I did, I shouted myself raw over that one. We all did.

Never underestimate a pissed-off girl.

Too bad they didn't piss off the rest of the girls on the team, or I'm sure we would have won.

Oh well... they played a good game. And they had fun.

But I think I'm going to treasure that "hmph!" and the startled, red-faced look on that boy's face for quite a long time. Heh, heh, heh...that's my girl!

UPDATE: The Husbandly One is, indeed, a very wise man. He came in, picked Auntie up and snogged her thoroughly, until her toes were curling, and then he put a spoon her her little hand, and gave her a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie and said, "Here. Just don't go into a chocolate coma, okay? I have plans for you later."

SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it possible for one's toes to remain permanently curled???
