Okay. I finally went to see the doctor. Yes, I know, I know, I should have gone on Monday.

*hangs head in shame*

But I went! I went, and... I have strep. *sigh* I suspected I had strep, but what had me doubting it was the fact that I never ran anything but a low-grade fever, for about two days. The last time I had strep, I had the galloping 103 degree fever with chills and all that, so I guess it's understandable that I would be fooled.

However, I still have laryngitis, and I started with the fever again yesterday, and now I've got this deep, booming cough, and well... I've already had my brushes with pneumonia, and I really don't want to go there again!!

You know, I've had pneumonia more in the last two years than I've had in the 18 years since I was diagnosed with asthma!!

So, I'm on antibiotics, and hopefully, this will clear up in a few days.

*crosses fingers*

Oh, and I've been able to retrieve my word files from my old hard-drive (YAY!!!), which makes me unbelievably happy!!

Advice, please!

I got a message through LJ today from a user called [profile] dreamer0702. The person was polite, and told me he/she had read "Surrender," though not where, and asked me if he/she could translate it and post it, listing themselves only as translator and giving me all credit as the author and putting up whatever contact info I felt comfortable with.

Well, I did the first thing any of us would do, and went to check this person's LJ out. Nothing. It's a total blank. So, I went to the user info.

Nothing. This person has no friends, lists no interests, nothing. The journal was started January of this year.

...

So, I then went to the site this person wants to post my story to after it's translated.

http://domiana.forum24.ru/

It's all in Russian, of course, and even using Google's "translate this page" function was less than impressive. In other words, it didn't. I did get enough info that it is a slash archive of some sort, but... er... you know, I'm not real sure about this. I'm sure "dreamer" is a perfectly nice person, but... this person is a complete cipher to me. I can't find out anything, or get a feel for who this is. And that bothers me. While I'm thrilled someone wants to translate my work, and this time, someone actually bothered to ask, which is great, on the other hand, I'd kind of like to know who is doing it and why, beyond the "I liked your story so much, that I want other people to read it in my language."

Yes, I've had one of my stories that I know of translated into Russian, and I only know this because I make it a habit to do searches on my username. And She Was turned up on a Russian fic rec site, though the person who did it didn't ask, and later simply posted a link to my LJ when I inquired about it, withdrawing the translated version.

So... advice, y'all? Do I send a polite refusal? Do I ask for more information and say I'll think about it?

*sigh*

Wouldn't worry so much if it was one of my gen-fics, but to have one of my BDSM fics singled out sort of makes me... nervous.
