It's the little things...

auntbijouYou know, I have to give a big ol' shout out to the Hamilton Beach company for their Snowman ice shaver, without which right now my life would be... well... hell. Since the kiddoes have sore throats, I'm shaving ice, it seems, every five minutes, and that thing hasn't let me down yet. It's about a year old now, and we got it for snow cones, but we mostly make slushies with it. Great for kids with sore throats. Coca-cola slushies, juice slushies, Throat Soothers tea slushies, Kool-aid slushies, Gatorade slushies... you name it, I've probably made a slushie out of it! Of course, you have to hold the thing down, and put a fair amount of pressure on it, but it beats hammering on a block of ice with a...well... HAMMER!!
The kids are finally starting to feel better. I'll probably call the doctor tomorrow just to check in. It's... well...right now, I'm too tired and wired to think straight. Mostly, what I need now are a good 12 hours straight of sleep, without a little Hot Tater curled up against my back (the Impossible Son) or a restless kangeroo thumping my legs (the Impossible Daughter). Or an exhausted husband shoving at me (Honey, you're snoring again!) Oh, we're all in a REAL good mood here!!
