Saturday, January 13th, 2007 12:40 pmAuntie is freezing her dainty little toes off. It is COLD outside, and getting progressively COLDER. This, of course, is made more dramatic by the fact that it was 73 degrees yesterday and today it is 38. We will be hauling our plants in, or putting them in the garden shed, to protect them.
Of course, the kids are delighted, because they are hoping the Snow Queen will finally make it snow here. They've been waiting for snow for quite some time now, and are getting rather impatient. Snow in central Texas is always an iffy proposition. Last year, there was snow at Christmas everywhere else EXCEPT here! I mean... even GALVESTON got snow, fer gossakes, but NOT US!!! It was very frustrating, and the Impertinent Daughter kept coming up with (to her) valid reasons for us to get in the car and brave icy roads to drive to wherever it was actually snowing so she and her little brother could play in it. *snorts* Yeah. Right.
Well, I guess I'd better go find some warm socks to put on, though with my luck, the Impertinent Daughter has already rummaged through my sock drawer and probably stolen the last clean pair. Yes, you guessed it, the Husbandly One had laundry duty this week, and you know what THAT means. *sigh* Maybe he's AFRAID to wash my clothes, though, really, he shouldn't be. I mean, I haven't bought ANYTHING that requires dry cleaning in over ten years. You learn your lesson after the third time a pair of dry clean only pants goes through the dryer, and you try to put them on only to find pants that were once long enough to wear with heels are now capri pants that are cutting off the circulation below your waist.
Maybe I should steal HIS socks. Except, that would defeat the purpose of my looking more like a girl. But... who looks at feet? My feet are small, so... oh, never mind.
I hear a mug of hot chocolate calling my name!
