Spring in Central Texas!

At last, I can believe it's spring in Central Texas! It's green again, there are flowers, it's starting to get uncomfortably warm, we've been able to have the windows open for two weeks, and haven't had to turn on the heat at night for one! It's wonderful!
And now, I believe I promised y'all pictures!
First, the soccer fields. I got only two last night, but you can see, they are greening up wonderfully!

The grass is still fighting against weeds, and there are still some bare patches, but it is a vast improvement over last year!

Another view. These are the U6 and U8 fields, which have irrigation, and they are so much nicer now, with thick grass, and a nice berm... I'm planning on taking off my shoes to walk across them sometime next week!!

We actually have a few patches of bluebonnets out at the fields, and I can't wait to make an expedition to see bluebonnets blooming in the Hill Country soon! For those who don't know, bluebonnets are the state flower of Texas, and every spring, as many tourists tour through Texas to see the bluebonnets covering the hills as tour through New England to see fall foliage. They don't have an individual scent, but stand in a field of them, and it smells heavenly!! And, yes, I will take pictures!!

The bridal wreath spirea along the fence in the front yard has been blooming whole hog this year, after only sparse blooms over the past three years. It's gorgeous!! I wish it had a scent, but I still find them pretty to look at! Can't wait to plant more stuff, and oh, I wish I had managed to get a shot of our plum tree in full bloom, but... I didn't.

A close-up of the flower bracts. It's such a pretty bush, and the butterflies seem to be very fond of it, too!
Well, that's all the pic-spam for today. Hopefully, I'll also soon have photos of the Red Radiant rose that I've transplanted from my mom's house. The bush has settled in nicely and seems to like its new home, putting out more leaves than I've seen on the poor thing in years, and this year, it has a bud!! So, I'm looking very forward to the bloom! That bush is some sixty years old, so... I'm very happy it has decided to like its new home!
